Aviation Day
November 2, 2024
Webelos/AoL - 9am-11:30am
Bears: 12:30pm-2:30pm
Pilot and Pack parent John Youngblood is inviting all of the Bears/Webelos/AoLs to join him for an aircraft demonstration and flight with the Tailwinds Flying Club at the Lake Elmo Airport.
Due to capacity and scout maturity, this event is restricted to the Bears, Webelos, and AoLs. We hope to be able to continue to offer something like this again in the future.
Tailwinds Flying Club
3275 Manning Ave N., Lake Elmo, MN 45042
(Fairchild Lane, Hangar 25E)

Please park along the North side of the access road, and NOT in front of the hangars!
Scouts are not required to participate in the flights, and are welcome to attend just for the demonstration. However, we do need at least 1 adult per airplane who are willing to fly in order to attend to the scouts mid-flight and maintain Scouting's requirements for parent to scout ratios.
Flights will last about 20 minutes and are limited to 2 scouts and 1 adult at a time.
In order to plan for this event, RSVPs are required. Please click here to go to Scoutbook and RSVP "yes" or "no".
*IMPORTANT NOTES*
There are different start times for the different groups.
Webelos/AoLs 9-11:30 AM
Bears 12:30 - 2:30 PM
Flights are weather dependent. In case of bad weather, this event will be rescheduled to November 3, 2024.
A liability release will need to be signed by a parent/guardian at the hangar prior to any scout flying.
Eat a modest breakfast/lunch before arriving. You are more likely to get sick if you fly empty, or overly full.
Bring a water bottle
There are no bathrooms in the hanger, so try to be prepared ahead of arrival. If needed, there is a bathroom at the nearby Lake Elmo Aviation.
If you have any questions please reach out to Mr. Youngblood - youngbloodjohnc@gmail.com
